If you're not thrilled about going to college, just don't go. If you aren't sure it's just a waste of money. Take some time off, explore some hobbies, maybe travel a bit. You'll find your way in time.

I had a brief idea of what I wanted to do, but college has become such a business in the states that I can't afford the education I need. They just drag the prices way up for more profits it seems.

Everyone is pushing that I go straight to school. I'm not sure I have much of a choice. When it comes to whether I can go to school or not next year.

What everyone pushes you to do shouldn't be what you absolutely have to do. You always have a choice. My dad's been pressuring me for awhile to go to college while I save up money for traveling, but I just keep telling him no. Their opinion doesn't really matter, especially if you don't have the money to afford it. You should do what you want to do, not what everyone else wants.
