Oh god, I finished afterstory a couple weeks ago. Im trying my hardest to forget everything about it. I cant watch a show that has relationships as a primary component without thinking back to it.
-
spoilers but what's with the weird opening scene?
-
The bit with Tomoya Okazaki talking about how he hates the town? And when he meets Nagisa Furukawa who says 'An-pan'? Heh, that one you'll have to wait and see for the significance of it. As for the weird bits in the other world with a girl, pay attention to it. I zoned out during those bits because it was just... weird... but try not do make my mistake. It makes After Story make a ton more sense.

when does afterstory start to pickup?
-
Define pick up... What episode are you on?
-
the feels and around 6. akio just chased down sunouhara.
-
Daym, you are burning through it haha. After story isn't too bad until around about 15/16/17 I can't quite remember which one it is but yeah you've got about another 10 episodes before it starts trainwrecking you.
-
episode 16 just as you said man.... that ending... and then the happy song just seems all wrong.
-
Yeah... I was expecting it to just cut to a black screen like GoT did, but no they had to rub salt into your eyes with that cheerful tune. I'm guessing you watched a bit more, so I'll tell you anyway - it gets worse.
-
i can post one of two images in response to ""final chapter" i don't want these feels.jpg or try not to cry, cry alot.jpg
-
Have you completed After Story then?
-
also, i think i need to watch something extremely light and funny now... this was one one of the best anime i've ever seen.
-
Glad you enjoyed it :D Don't watch Watamote for extremely light and funny though <.< I'd say go with something like Lucky Star, that's what I recovered from Clannad on. It's just a sort of funny look at Anime in general, it's a little odd but once you get into it it's nice and cheerful rather than a feels raep train like Clannad and Angel Beats lol.
-
just the two alternate universe AS episodes left.
-
Ah good, what did you think of the show? Also, how well did you understand the ending because when I first watched it I was sat there going 'Holy deus ex machina batman'
-
i understood it pretty good. i googled after i saw one the episode tags say that
his daughter got sick
and accidentally stumbled onto the ending explanation.
the whole thing about alternate universes ties in since when ushio dies in this world, she created an alternate one to try to save her family in which the "bad end" was the canon past but her father and her are in different forms in the future. the play was based on her mother's sense of this world and they had psychic/mental quantum ties to the alternate world(her father's memories when he sees the robot). her father didn't want her to die and died with her that day by giving up in the snow. in the new world, her plan didn't work but since she created the world, she was the world and to escape it, she(while dying) imploded her alternate world for a new version of alternate in which her mother survived and they were all happy for her father's sake. but the real ushio is dead in the forest, and only fuko can see her
the rest of the episodes are showing a series prequel and another what-if tomoya married someone else.
-
Yeah, I didn't find the explanation until after I finished. Even then it took a while to sink in.
I liked the way those little lights were important, if Tomoya hadn't been helping those around him to deal with their problems and thus making them happier he wouldn't have been able to have the happier ending where they all lived. It's a good moral to take away from it, a life lived helping others will benefit you just as much as a life lived for yourself. Even if that is a somewhat selfish and blunt way of looking at it.
Brilliance
-
What to expect?
Tears and a broken heart.
-
You are a brave man. The first series isn't too bad, you should be alright. After Story though... -blam!-ing hell...
-
yeah, the first series seems mostly light comedy.
-
Yep, it's just setting the stage... Enjoy it while it lasts...
-
yeah whole ghost thing don't make much sense
-
Is that the girl in the other world that you are referring to? It doesn't make sense until the end of the entire show, but really - don't look up what it means mid-watch. <.<
-
nor does the fuko thing...but i'll just watch the story... it just got interesting.
