"I know everything about this movie and it sucks."
At least wait a bit longer. Also, what did you expect if not CGI? Bad costumes or real turtles?

Costumes make you wonder how they created it. Like the old Star Wars movies, they're a perfect example of it. Jabba the Hutt in Return of the Jedi still looks great and I'm still amazed at how they created it. CGI is just "oh, special effects. That looks cool I guess." Its not as interesting to look at because you know its not really there.
-
Who looked at Jabba and thought "That's believable"? CGI is just a better was with characters like this. Don't get me wrong, I think costumes and makeup can do wonders in some situations (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, some aspects of Star Wars, Star Trek, etc) but it's not always practical.

Practical special effects worked just fine for the first three Turtles movies. They were ten times more believable than the ones in this trailer.

Edited by Kirushi: 3/28/2014 6:31:54 AMThe effects in the early movies were decent at best. They're pretty bad by modern standards and weren't even believable. The CGI gives the most realistic portrayal of them as you can get. To say otherwise is asinine.

I suppose it's all opinions in the end. The costumes from the old movies always look so fake to me and I feel like they held it back.

As opposed to most CGI characters where the actor as to pretend it's there. I know they had actors on set for this movie but there is still something too cartoony about the feel of these Turtles.

Well, they are based off of cartoons. Also, the actors are probably on set, just wearing specialised outfits for it (mo-cap suits).
