Oh, can't wait. I've been loking forward to how character customization would work.

Same here, been wanting to see the Exos in engine.

Me, too, but I'm thinking I'll either go with Human or Awoken. Awoken seem like a sci-fi version of Skyrim's dark elves, though, and they were never especially fun. I'm guessing you'll be going for Exo?
-
Exo Titan. Awoken are cool, but first game that is giving such customization for a robot. Awoken will be my second race I chose to play with as a Warlock.
-
You're not wrong; I haven't seen a lot of customization in regards to robots or androids. Then again, I couldn't see how Khajiit could be customized, either, but there it was, clear as day: cat people. What I'm curious about is how Exos will actually behave in game. I heard they were emotionless and "sinister," as Bungie said, but I'd like to know the extent of their inhumanity.
-
That is true, though given they are most likely sentient now, the description may not be entirely true. That and given Exos haven't really been shown does raise questions.
-
The Exos were built for... something about the Collapse, but eventually, they were rebooted and repurposed. Humans... we all know about the Humans. Nothing's really been revealed about the Awoken, but I refuse to accept that they're aliens unless Bungie can somehow pull off ETs that look almost exactly like humans.
-
humans were saved by the traveler during the collapse. they turned into awoken because of traveler saving them. forgot were this was covered but I could try to find it.
-
I feel they were humans 'Awoken' by the Traveler in some way. It'd explain their appearance and their majestic nature. Exos were war machines forged during the Golden Age, but were wiped of their memory upon reboot. I wonder what they knew and why they were wiped of their memory.
-
I definitely agree with the Awoken being humans before who were somehow changed into the beings they are now. The Exo are a curious bunch, as they surely saw more in the old days. It's also very clever of Bungie to have their memories erased, so everyone starts on equal footing in Destiny, preventing Exo characters from knowing more than all the other races while still providing a unique backstory for them. They are obviously the most aged of the races we'll choose from.

Not to mention that they are tied to the Traveler in more than one way. Not to mention that they are able to wield powers granted by the Traveler does indicate they are not entirely robots.
