So that I can interpret and evaluate the information for myself: Could someone please provide me with the source (article, interview or quote) that spurred all this recent speculation on "crafting"?
I'm looking for a link to the direct source material. What I assume to be an interview or article. Please, do not post links to YouTube speculation or discussion videos. What I'm looking for is the original quote and where it is from.
EDIT: Ok I think I found one possible source...
In the September 2013 issue of Edge Magazine (page 65) the interviewer/author speculates on how customization and upgrades may work in Destiny. He states that he believes there will a crafting system in Destiny and goes to ask Chris Butcher about what he (the author) coins as "crafting". Chris side-steps the question and the author/interviewer goes on to briefly discuss his own speculation on the subject.
Based on this, I do not believe (at this time) that term/phrase "Crafting System" originated from a Bungie employee or statement. It very well may be community speculation.
Chris Butcher does go on to mention what he refers to as "upgrade materials", which are found in loot chests. I personally speculate these materials to be glimmer, weapon kits, talent points, etc. All of which were found/noted on the Thunderlord's skill-tree from E3.
However, I obviously cannot know for certain. I too, am just speculating. So I appreciate any added insight you guys may have.

Edited by Hylebos: 2/25/2014 5:00:24 PMThe very original preorder description for Destiny mentions that players will be able to craft things. Pretty ambiguous, but not a terrible point from which you can anchor your speculation to reality.
