Female shoplifter shamed at Walmart.

...and apparently people are taking her side. So what do you think, Flood: is stealing wrong no matter what the situation, or should people look the other way in cases like these where it's a multi-billion dollar corporation?

  • So everyone knows, the guy was in no way related to Walmart. He was just some guy who was cruising the aisles, I am assuming that he was shopping. Though his cart must have been around the corner, since he had a free hand, and the other holding his phone. So, he was policing his local Walmart. Instead of doing the right thing, and notifying a manager to ID the shoplifter, he took matters into his own hands and went apeshit on her. Now, its important to realize, while she likely intended to steal, until she was on her way out, she had not stolen yet. So, she broke no laws in this video. Now, why is what he did more wrong than what she was likely intending to do (we'll never know, he chased her out of the store) 1) His actions could have caused injury. He was brow beating her, in a way that would cause anyone to react. If some dude walked up and started yelling, most would react with fight or flight. There is no way I am giving my ID to some guy yelling at me. Were I her, he would be waking up in an ER, and I would be filling out a police report showing it was justified. She could very well have slipped and fallen on her dash out. Now, who ends up paying for that? Walmart. She hadn't stolen anything at that point. The items were left in the store. This dumbass goes and chases her, and oops. There is a personal injury claim against Walmart. He stopped $20 in theft but cost them a $20,000 lawsuit. Good job. 2) His actions could have escalated. Like I said above, what if she chose fight? Or if in the next aisle her thug boyfriend was getting a bag of cheetos? He's getting his ass beat. Or if she were a hardened criminal, what if she were armed? Now we have a knife or a gun around families in America's number one Family store. Good job. He wasn't trained to handle this, nor was he really in the right. He was being an asshole to someone he could be an asshole to. Walmart employees would get fired for his behavior, and I hope he was barred from the store for it.
