Missing Threads on Mobile App

I noticed recently that one of the threads in one of my private groups was missing when I accessed the group from the mobile app. I thought it was a problem unique to me and that particular group. However, another member in a different group noticed that she couldn't find a thread from the mobile app either. I checked and this thread is missing for me too. Both of these threads are extremely long (over 2000 posts). Does anyone know if there is a bug where very long threads just don't show up on the mobile app? I apologize if this has been addressed before and I missed it. UPDATE: This seems to be limited to the Android app. The missing threads seem to be those with LOTS of posts.

  • Good news everyone! We've pinpointed the issue. There is a bug in the way the android app is getting topics to display for private groups, so that anything with an original post date of over a year ago (topics that can accrue many posts for the most part which is why I think that stood out) were not being grabbed. An Issue has been logged, and our Devs are aware of it. Thanks for keeping an eye out, we'll have a fix for this soon™ -NIS
soon™ actually means we'll get to this when we can as we are super busy with [REDACTED BY WEB MASTER] and [REDACTED BY WEB MASTER] that I can't wait for you guys to see
• Is this only occurring with private group posts? or public ones like this

This could also be the reason as to why it's not showing up.
Posted by: Achronos To be clear, the thread is still there, but it is being filtered (incorrectly) out of your group's topic index display because of a bug. Once the bug is fixed, it will pop back into the index, sorted to where you expect it to be.

      • I've got two phone, Android and iPhone. I've logged out and then back into the mobile app on both phones. On my Android, I am missing the extremely long threads. However, I can view them both on my iPhone.

      • The Android Version is pretty new, I'm guessing threads are still being transferred to it. When Bungie.next first launched we were also missing lots of threads but with time they transferred over.

      • Of everyone I've talked to so far, this seems to be specific to the Android app. And limited to threads that are very long in length. I'll update the OP with this information. Let me know if anyone finds anything differently.

        • Yes, this is odd. I've scrolled on my phone looking for a particular thread I posted in from my pc and have gone all the back to beginning of Dec and still haven't found it. This thread's last post before mine was just Jan 29, I posted on Jan 30 and someone replied to my post yesterday and it still isn't showing up using the app. Any help would be appreciated

I'm having the exact same issue with certain private group threads not showing up in the Android mobile app. One thread has 1200 posts, and the other has 2500. Not sure if the length of the thread is relevant, but yeah.

There is a bug where if you Edit a thread using the Mobile version that you posted in a group, the thread will be made private, regardless of what you originally had it posted as. I've had this issue before and it could be what you're having now. Go on the Desktop version to Edit it and you'll probably see the "private" option checked, even if you didn't select it when you posted it originally.
