Is chivalry just another tool of patriarchy?

It sure seems like it. These are strong independent women that don't need us to open doors for them or pay for their food. I think we should stop this silly behavior, it mocks women. How would you like it if some dirty male opened the door for you? I don't know about you but I would punch him straight in the mouth.

  • I can see where you're coming from just from the title since I didn't read the OP, but it's mainly just being kind.

  • It doesn't get you laid, but sometimes it's worth trying.

  • Jokes aside, if you're going to get mad at me because I open a door for you, I'm fucking slamming it on your face and dancing on your unconscious body.

  • Whoa I literally just sat down after talking to my co worker about this. She was saying chivalry is lost and men don't open doors for women anymore. I told her I don't know where she's been going to but I rarely have someone who doesn't offer the door open for me. Be them male or female. In fact it happens so often when someone doesn't hold the door open as I enter/exit behind them I get a little grouchy. It's not chivalry. It's common courtesy. And aye, I'm sure you're not serious. But I just wanted to babble at work.

I'll hold the door open for anyone, it's called being nice. Also chivalry is just being traditional, you know man helping damsel in distress. (Not literally in distress)
Knights vowed to be loyal, generous, and "of noble bearing". Knights were required to tell the truth at all times and always respect the honour of women.
