I know that the forums are not for use as a business promotion tool, but what about offering cryptocurrency (ie. Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin) as payment for in-game favors over the forums? For instance:
"I will trade you $10 worth of Dogecoin for your rare cape."
Though that is purely a hypothetical situation, as we don't even know details about trading in Destiny, yet. (BTW, this does not mean I would ever engage in such a cheap way of getting loot, I will happily pluck my own from the bloodied corpses of my enemies in Destiny)
And a second question, I didn't get in trouble for hosting my art contest in December, but what if next time the prize was cryptocurrency (instead of gametime cards or points). Is it cool for me to offer that as a prize? Or do the rather murky rules about it on an international level come into play? (though I'm fairly certain the US government is chill about Bitcoin)

Edited by index: 1/19/2014 6:55:43 PMIn the vein of people "trading" ingame items for real cash value, I think the terms of use has always been explicit:
By way of example, and not as a limitation, you agree that when using a Communication Service, you will not: Advertise or offer to sell or buy any goods or services for any business purpose, unless such Communication Service specifically allows such messages. Unless otherwise specified, the Bungie Services, Bungie Mobile Apps and Software are for your personal and non-commercial use. You may not [...] sell any information, software, products or services obtained from the Bungie Services, Bungie Mobile Apps or Software.
The terms also detail virtual currency and virtual items, which is worth reading. I am no authority on this, but to me it seems that buying or auctioning items for profit is not a good thing on the bungie.net forums.
