Why should a man be -blam!-ed over because of what the woman wants?
Considering the women is the one carrying for the child in her body for nine months, the one who usually is out of work for a period of time to care for the child, etc., I don't care if the man has to pay child support.

 • So a man should be forced to care for a child he didn't want? If he made it clear before they had sex that he didn't want the child and she has one anyways, he should be exempt from any legal bindings to that child.
So a man should be forced to care for a child he didn't want?
Use protection or don't have sex. And before you go on to say "SO WHY IS ABORTION LEGAL?!", the woman is the one going through the medical complications, nine months of pain, and far lower job security (Yes, careers do play a part in the decision). If the pregnancy does occur and she is not ready to handle that, I am for an abortion.

 • You're holding men to a higher standard just because women have to go through the pain of childbirth when SHE chooses to go through it. Honestly the argument of "Use Protection or don't have sex" MUST be true for both sexes for true equality. If a man doesn't have the financial means to support a child he should be punished because he didn't use protection, but if a women doesn't she's exempt from punishment even though she chooses to have the child? A man shouldn't have to write a Prenup every time he has sex.

 •
You're holding men to a higher standard just because women have to go through the pain of childbirth when SHE chooses to go through it.
For women who are so against abortions, or who are desperate to have a child, pretty much. The child is still half of the men.
Honestly the argument of "Use Protection or don't have sex" MUST be true for both sexes for true equality.
Agreed.
If a man doesn't have the financial means to support a child he should be punished because he didn't use protection
Yes, because he is aware of the consequences - just as much as the woman is. However, again, he isn't the one putting his career on the line, dealing with nine months of pain on top of the actual birth.
but if a women doesn't she's exempt from punishment even though she chooses to have the child?
Again, going back to the first point.

 •
For women who are so against abortions, or who are desperate to have a child, pretty much. The child is still half of the men.
Yet the woman still has complete control over the entire situation. Even if he had written a Prenup, he would be shamed for not supporting "His" child even after he made sure he was exempt from legal bindings to it. Why are we told to never shame a woman for opting out of parenthood, yet the man is shamed when he opts out?
Yes, because he is aware of the consequences - just as much as the woman is. However, again, he isn't the one putting his career on the line, dealing with nine months of pain on top of the actual birth.
You're forgetting that she can opt out of the pregnancy whenever she wants. She doesn't have to put her career on the line either. She's allowed to get an abortion, so how is her choosing to have the child the mans fault? He isn't forcing her to keep the child, he just doesn't want to be legally obligated to it, that's not wrong, especially if he informed her about this before they had sex.
