Has any of you followed this game before?? Its been in the works for quite the long time. The video above is from a tech demo released in 2010.
The Infinity mmo will be released after its smaller brother but same scale, game Infinity Battlescape. Battlescape is described to be "an arena-based shooter in space." Because of what the engine can accomplish, the "arena" will take form of a realistically scale of a solar system.
As you can see in the video, space to planet transition is pretty much 100% seamless. And in this newer video, they have gone a long way from 2010. With a lot of the graphic " flickery lines" gone that were visible in the tech demo when the ship was flying around the planet.
The scale of this game is phenomenal. The planet you see from the planets surface, you will be able to traverse the empty space between them and fly around in the atmosphere. I believe that the Battlescape will allow players to do just this. Since the Infinity BS will be the main point of revenue for the developers when they start on the actual Infinity MMO. Im sure they will have more room to grow their tech and flesh it out.
With some space sims being announced for next year. Gamers that enjoy this type of genre, we sure have a lot of candy to choose from.
