How did the Corvette in Reach fly to the Super Carrier if you destroyed its engines?
English
-
Good point, but the corvettes engines weren't completely destroyed only damaged.
-
Engines weren't destroyed, but damaged. They still work. I'm assuming they stopped because of some automatic override that detected the damage and shut them out before you turned then back on.
-
Tractor beam?
-
There aren't any tractors in space
Or is this another plot hole?
-
It must be. If there were no tractors, how would they plough the space-crops?
-
inb4 Peasant With Space Oxen obviously.
-
You see the Corvette using its engines in the cutscene.
-
Here's a thought: Maybe the Covenant have more than one Corvette.
-
...wat?
-
Maybe the first Corvette disappeared, and a second Corvette showed up. Maybe The Pillar of Autumn was never actually on Reach at all. Maybe that's the canon way it happened, because Keyes never saw the Autumn until he was in space. Maybe there were thousands of Corvettes there all at once, and they just came out from hiding one at a time.
-
Drifted?
-
In the cutscene you clearly see the Corvette using its engines, it wasn't just drifting.
-
Yeah... Maybe the carrier was coming around to pick it up?
-
But you can see the Corvette moving, because it was using it's engines. You even go to the bridge of the Corvette to set the Corvette on a refueling run to the Carrier. After you press the button you feel the Corvette starting up and moving to the Carrier.

Point. It shall remain a mystery.
