• I feel like there's no right answer, so I'm just going to answer honestly. Most people in that class don't really appreciate soldiers and what they do. To quote some random guy
When you're out there [on the battlefield], it's not about politics or democracy or oil. It's about your squad. Your fellow soldiers. Your brothers. You do whatever you can to save them. To neutralize the threat as quickly as you can.
Obviously, it's not word for word. But, it gets the message across. If someone was trying to kill your family-or your friends... Would you shoot back? Because I know I would. Also, you don't have to answer my original question if it makes you uncomfortable. (:

 • I don't care why people fight, it's because they fight. They sign up prepared and willing to kill, it doesn't matter why, killing is wrong and just because you put a uniform on kill for your country doesn't make it right. Personally I'm not upper/middle class, my parents are though but that has nothing to do with why we hate the military. We wont even let my brother back in the house after he joined.
Btw my original post was bait, I don't wish death on any body
I agree with you. Killing IS wrong. However, you shouldn't be mad at the soldiers. They're people. Like us. People always seem to forget that. They're following orders. If you want a person to get mad at, get mad at the guys who sent them there. I... He's still your brother. He's not a different person. He's not a heartless killer. He is your brother. Not letting him back in the house seems a little... Extreme.
Oh, I know. You have a reputation. I just wanted to ask you that question.
Anyways, I respect you for standing by your beliefs. I don't want to get in an argument. Especially over something as trivial as this.

 • Just following Orders? It didn't work in Nuremberg it wont work now. Not as extreme as some things.

 • I'm sorry. I'm not familiar with that. Certain extremists in the Middle East come to mind.... Also, off topic, but thank you for not getting mad just because I disagreed with your opinion.
