I'm glad someone has some taste in music and can see and understand how J.C. Would completely bring out another emotion from the game, you paint a very dramatic scene. I was thinking "Ain't no Grave" would be my soundtrack. It'd open up to me backed in a corner in some darkened cavern and I'm just chuckling to my self listening to the panicked chatter of a bunch of creatures I never got the chance to make out. As finish my check of ammo and supplies a scream pierces the blackness then silence....more screams and strange hums and dim lights start appearing everywhere like bats awakening. It starts they see me and I'm at a disadvantage against these numbers armed with an .308 old tech they called it but its durable and reliable, that leaves my sidearm just a standard revolver and my knife which I will use since I'm already low on ammo. I throw my last Napalm grenade to slow them down and give me an idea of their numbers. The flames do their job scorching all in proximity and the burning and charred walls now give way of some light, 8 of them left, I make quick work of 3 that come charging with single shots. Another comes rushing, I fire and miss as it dodges and attaches to the wall without losing a step, 2 more come rushing it takes the last three rounds before their bodies succumb to the ground...I get blindsided by 2 that seemed to be waiting for an opening, I have one round in my rifle..no time to shoulder it as I get hit again this time it makes contact with chest, I grab hold of it and jab the barrel into his gut and pull the trigger. The second one charges again while the first takes its last breathe, I'm not quick enough to reach my blade so I swing the butt of the rifle and it hits with a sickening crack and I don't stop till I'm beating nothing but slush. I slowly start to make my way out going through what just took place in my mind and something feels off, I touch my knife, it's a force of habit but I've learned to trust my gut. I turn and pull out the blade searching the darkness, my eyes have adjusted slightly. I see nothing, hear nothing, something is there though I can feel it, feel its murderous intent and its bloodlust. I hear a swoosh and realize its dropped from the caverns roof, I dodged at the last second rolling a few steps from it and slow my breathing focus on my target, relax. I take half a step and am now ten feet behind the creature putting my blade back in its holster, as the creatures throat rips open I breathe a heavy sigh not out of exhaustion but of a frustration that can only be understood if you've lived as long as I have...When will it be my time?...
