Capcom Vancouver's Xbox One launch game Dead Rising 3 runs a native resolution of 720p.
"We are 720p, upscaled to 1080p," executive producer Josh Bridge told IGN, "and we run at a 30 frames per-second lock."
"We have to be locked because it's about the feel of combat. You've got to have that predictability of button presses." If the frame rate goes any lower, the way a game responds to your input slows.
They're reasoning makes no sense at all. I love how they address the whole thing with lower FPS, but never even touch on higher FPS. So what's going to happen when you're FPS isn't locked and running higher than 30 FPS? Do tell Crapcom, because I would LOVE to hear why you think it would be a bad thing.

With 60 fps it's bound to have ups and downs. That's still not much of an excuse though. They should have gone up to 900p. I guess either the engine is very shitty, or the console is a lot worse than I thought.
