Did Hitler learn nothing from Napoleon? If you wage war in Russia. Bring. Coats. You. Dumb. Ass.
-
He had underestimated the power of the Red Army due to the disaster outcome of the Winter War and the Fuhrer were expecting the Germans to defeat them also before the winter settles in.
-
He expected to overrun Russia within a couple of days, begore the winter could really start. Russians started retreating and burning their own villages, so that the Geemans couldn't raid them and steal food. Eventually, the -blam!-ers had no food or clothing and got slaughtered by the Russians.

I was referring to the fact that hitler and Napoleon didn't really have the same situation. Napoleon was just stupid. The Germans weren't really stupid. The Russians just exceptionally smart.
