First of all, it's sort of misleading to say that razer is more expensive than logitech. Razer simply only fills the enthusiast gaming niche while logitech tries to make products for everybody. Yes, a blackwidow, a mechanical keyboard, is more expensive than a $30 rubber dome keyboard. However, comparable products such as a G5 vs. a deathadder or a blackwidow vs. a G710, the prices are fairly similar because the products are aimed at the same audience. That's not to say that razer doesn't have problems. Synapse, which is the cloud based driver system, really sucks. And if you want to be able to use pretty much any of the cool features on their stuff, you have to use synapse. Why does synapse suck? Two reasons: First, even when you are online, it can still take several minutes for the peripheral settings to kick in after you restart your computer. Back in college, there were at least ten different times that it took half an hour for my mouse settings to kick in. Second, the software can be clunky and handles updates really badly. Synapse aside, the products I've used have been fantastic. Without getting into the whole hubbub of sensors and dpi and other marketing nonsense, the deathadder feels so goddamn great. The side buttons aren't the best, but the primary buttons are on a hair trigger and the shape makes it perfect for picking it up and putting it back down quickly and precisely. The blackwidow was one of the few reasonably priced options for a mechanical keyboard that had mx cherry blues, back lighting (which has the added benefit of the lettering never rubbing off), and macro functionality.
