Alien: Isolation Stars Ripley's Daughter, One Xenomorph.

Alien: Isolation is in development at Creative Assembly and is coming to current and next-gen consoles in 2014. That’s according to an anonymous Kotaku source*, who has joined the dots on the trademark filing revealed yesterday and a job ad at Creative Assembly from May 2012. The source claims that the game is a first-person shooter with stealth and horror elements, following Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda. Reportedly, most of your time is spent on a single space station and there’s only one xenomorph to worry about for much of the campaign, hence the singular Alien of the title. Yesterday I wrote that the trademark was for Aliens: Isolation, not Alien: Isolation, because I am an idiot. Sorry. According to the source, in place of wave after wave of xenomorphs you instead do battle against clones and soldiers, with gameplay making use of vents, lockers and melee weapons, in what is said to be heavily inspired by the first Alien movie. The source added that Sega, “took the critical reception to Aliens: Colonial Marines very seriously”, delaying Isolation at least once and missing a planned E3 2013 reveal, in order to ensure the game was up to scratch. Sega has not yet commented publicly on the story. *Because anonymous sources can be trusted, amirite?
