If the debt ceiling isn't raised and the Republicans manege to get into power anytime soon, I'll tell you this.
Not a single country will take them seriously on a world stage. If they manage to crash the US economy, they'll take the entire Global Market on a downturn with them and will effectively ruin America's credibility and influence. With a $17 trillion debt, they can't afford to be the world's policeman anymore and clearly, they don't to either. There's only one thing left to say...

All those damn politicians need to do is cut spending, cut size of govt, reduce debt, and a default is avoided. There are two ways to enslave a populace. One is by the sword, the other is by debt.
