Why a private beta?
Why would Bungie release a private beta only accessible by pre-order? Is this simply a money-grubbing move? Why not invite the whole wide world to try this new genre and break it?

3 RepliesI think you mean "money-gr[b]a[/b]bbing" move, but regardless, an invite-only beta means there is measurable interest in the beta and the servers can be prepared to expect and manage the number of players. An open beta means a far larger player base can access the beta, which could be detrimental to the testing phase, as it may strain the servers too much.
