You're in denial if you don't think the governments been collecting data on us since the PATRIOT Act was enacted after 9/11.

 •
enjoy your stay and privacy.
Why don't you stop talking about us not doing something, when you can do something about the problem in the UK? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/21/uk-spying-scandal_n_3479942.html

 • 600 million a day yet the USA is spying and around 1 billion and the UK is bigger than the USA? Somebody can't count. 600 million is the population of Europe, NSA is tapping all of Europe, America and 2 nations in South America.

 • You don't have proof of that.

 • I don't know anything about British law or surveillance, but I'm sure every major country in the digital age has some type of monitoring going on. I don't care that much, really, about it. I'm free to go to the grocery store or watch porn or publish a blog bashing my elected officials or go to whatever church I want and watch and read whatever news I want to. Stormtroopers aren't knocking on my door or sending me to an internment camp for dissenting from my government. I don't have anything to hide. Frankly, my life isn't that interesting to trigger further scrunity from the government. They won't find anything from who I text or what I look at on my phone. Governments are not yet so Orwellian that they are watching and indoctrinating everyone all the time, and I don't think they ever will.

 • That's the problem people just think "I don't care if they want to monitor me I have a boring life or nothing to worry about". AKA the government can give me anal without lube and i'll bend over and take it. Seriously for a country that cares about it's freedoms you seem more than happy to get shafted and then cry how you have guns to prevent all that from happening.

 • I'm all for gun control, by the way. What has the UK done to you to oppress you? Have you been -blam!- anally? You sound like a pissed off teenager.

 • Is that so? is that why police are being told to scale down their surveillance to match the crime rate of the area? Don't get me wrong im aware phones are tapped and emails are looked at but not on the scale of America which has every single phone line and email address tapped and encryptions cracked for social websites. The Cookie law for online prevents that crap from happening on a large scale.

 • You're in total denial. The U.S. government shares all the data with your intelligence groups, just as we share it with Israel. And your intelligence groups are spying on all of you as well. The only difference is that we have the Constitution that would prevent any of that data being used against us in a court of law. We know our government is spying on us, but there isn't much they can actually do with the data. It's still wrong.

 • Is that right? Is that why America failed to pass on information that was a security risk to the UK because the USA's man was in "Possible danger"? Seriously your intelligence agencies don't share squat unless it suits them and are more than happy to throw the UK under a bus.
