Our revised toolset as well as the directions/marching orders from our management do not allow for or permit that form of widespread and indiscriminate banning.
As I remember, back when that was an option on the table, whenever it was used, the outcry and bitching over "unfairness, inconsistency, bias and arbitrary nature" of carpet bans was deafening. Mostly "but I was telling them to stop!" or "I only posted report and move on"......
People complained, were heard, were listened to, and changes were made in response to the complaints.
Which leaves us where we are.

Totally the right move. The freedom for other community members to see an offensive thread, tell the OP this is offensive, does not belong here, and I am reporting - all the while while not worrying about a carpet ban - is important, I think. Allows for role modeling, and such things.

i ALWAYS THOUGHT IT WAS DELICIOUS, I did get caught in it a few times, but it was always hilarious, a bunch of floodians huddled in a corner, thinking the mods were asleep, then you dropped for the shadows as banman, and drop kicked the group like dominos into ban land.

I think my sarcasm must have been too thick, this was supposed to be a parody not to be taken literally.
As I remember, back when that was an option on the table, whenever it was used, the outcry and bitching over "unfairness, inconsistency, bias and arbitrary nature" of carpet bans was deafening.
This, was more or less what I was joking about. All well. :P

DOH! Once again, text on the Internet fails to convey the author's subtle intent. Or, (far more likely) I failed to catch the author's subtle intent.

Hey, I could just be that terrible at trying to be humorous. No worries!

Or, you totally just successfully trolled Recon :D
