Here's a better test.
You have a baby in one hand, and a bowling ball in the other with a 5 month pregnant mother underneath w/ the bowling ball above her stomach.

Congratulations, you just equated the mother to nothingness. Apparently she is unimportant.

lol what? Try reading again.

Ok, in the OP we have two options. A baby, and a foetus somehow surviving outside the womb. In your scenario, we have a baby, and a foetus inside a woman. You stated that both scenarios are, "Equally as bad." If that is the case, then that means you believe the mother is worthless.
-
Way to take the decently good point that he was making and throw it out the window and ignore it just because he said the situations were "equally as bad". I think a good number of people would realize that the argument he was trying to make is that calling one of the options "drop a petri dish holding a fetus" makes people care about it less than if you called it "kill a fetus growing inside it's mother".
-
That's exactly why the original "test" doesn't mention the mother. It designed to see if people truly equate foetuses with babies. Adding in the mother means you're assessing them on unequal grounds, and basically confirms that you view them inequally.
-
This sort of situation isn't the norm in real life. The ways it would occur are "baby death" or "fetus growing inside of mother death" I agree that the baby should be saved, but as I said in a different post, that doesn't mean fetuses are significantly less valuable. I looked it up and apparently by the time it is considered a fetus it has all the main recognizable features of a human and has all major body organs.

I was creating a different perspective. Obviously in the hypothetical scenarioI I presented, the mother would be unaffected.
-
Obviously? You're dropping a bowling ball on her.

smh... Kids have no imagination.
