Or you could put faith in a deity. Simple as that.

 • It doesn't work if you perceive it as a lie.

 • An assertion of truth made for the sole reason of making-you-not-be-depressed is a lie.

 • Again, it doesn't work if you perceive it as a lie.

 • But it is in fact a lie and is therefore covered by number 2.

 • Again, it doesn't work if you perceive it as a lie. And it is not a fact, it solely depends on your perception. If I believe it to be true, than it works, therefore according to my own unique perspective it is true. If I believe it to be a lie, it will not work, therefore according to my own perception it is a lie.

 •
And it is not a fact
An assertion of truth made knowingly simply to make yourself happier is, by definition, a lie. Anyone who takes your advice and asserts a deity is doing so not out of a regard for what actually is the case, but out of a happiness-gamble. This is fundamentally dishonest. You could say that one should also avoid searching for / examining dishonesty, as this can make you sadder. Or advocate doublethink.

 • You really just don't get it... Nor are you apt in philosophizing. I'll just leave it at that.

 • You have not refuted or directly responded to any of my points, and posted what was essentially the exact same comment 3 times. I don't think you're in a position to criticize anyone's argumentative skills.

 • Typical Bnet forum kid. Unable to discuss and philosophize about a subject. Rather "refuting", "arguing", "debating" is the only form of constructive convo's you're capable of, despite the fact arguing goes no where, and nothing is gained. Good day.

 • Yes, addressing the points that person you're talking with is making is rather key to discussing anything. This comment:
You really just don't get it... Nor are you apt in philosophizing. I'll just leave it at that.
in absolutely no way responded to the points in my post. It's just an empty dismissal. This indicates that you are insecure and stubborn.
