Gun Lesson of the Day: Change your carry ammo every 6-12 months
Just pulled these out of my .45 for inspection
As you can see the seating depth on the rounds is very inconsistent.
This happens over time. As you chamber rounds the round is pressed pretty forcefully against the feed ramp, pushing it into the case a bit more each time.
At best, ammunition like this can cause inconsistent ballistic performance.
At worst. It can cause a catastrophic failure ( explosion ) Due to chamber over-pressure.
Check your ammo people.
This got brought up on /k/ a while ago, good to see people are being mindful of it.
Some suggest you should never use a round that you've chambered before without manual inspection.
