I've learned, that so far, I have been hired into a great corporation. American Woodmark's Customer Care Center is full of awesome people and a happy atmosphere. There is a LOT to learn, but so far, I've been absorbing it pretty well. I was mainly worried they'd throw me into the fray and that I would be fielding calls day one. However, they really ease you into it and take the time to give you really good training.
With the way the system currently works, I won't be taking calls solo until at least 2 weeks from now, and even then, we don't actually make our tickets live, they have to be audited first so we can minimize errors.
The amount of joy this job has brought me these past two weeks has been immense, and I am really glad I live near the call center, otherwise I would have never been given this opportunity. Seriously guys, an 8-5 job is not as scary as it seems. It is nice to wake up and have a purpose every day.
