Whether or not race played a factor is not my point. My point is that the media would be framing this as potentially a hate crime if the roles were reversed. But honestly, I do think race played a factor here. This shooter was standing up for his fellow blacks and decided to attack a white bus driver. Do you really think this shooter would have attacked the bus driver had he been black instead of white?

People of all races murder each other everyday, so it's rather unlikely this would be considered a hate crime if skin colors were reversed. I do feel that whatever their genes, the assailant would have still committed the shooting. He had a gun and didn't want to pay, much less be confronted by the driver for it.
