I don't want to see Prometheans or Elites as playable characters. I like the canon, narrative thread Halo 4 has.

No. No. No. You should never limit the multiplayer and remove features that have been present for ten years just because they want the multiplayer to be canon. Hell, I hate to sound a bit on the attack here, but why do you love the canon multiplayer? I mean, it's not like it's something very special. It's just "you're actually spartans playing war games on a holo-deck", that's it.
-
For me, Halo is all about the story. I don't care about the gameplay. I don't care if the BR is a 5sk or a 4sk (I actually prefer the 5sk for some odd reason. I'm more accurate). If my spartan can, in my mind, be apart of the universe, I'm very happy.
-
I can understand that. I'm also a huge fan of the Halo universe. I just hope they find a way to incorporate elites into Halo 5. I exclusively used elites for years.
-
I would love a way to incorporate elites into MM. But at the expense of canon? I'd rather not. For example, when I'm using a covenant weapon in Halo 4, it feels wrong. Like I should exclusively be using UNSC weapons (loadout). Now, if I were an Elite...
-
I don't understand why Flood and Mini Spartans are okay, canon-wise, but Elites wouldn't.
-
Exactly. Refer to my reply to Lord of Admirals for my perspective.
-
I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one. There's a huge playerbase that identify themselves as Elites in Halo. not Spartans. Plus, the more the better.

I see your point, but I still stand by my opinion. Now, if 343 wants to keep the canon, "War Games" banner (which I would very much appreciate), and include some sort of Elite playability (not Promethean, because knights aren't humanoid and Prometheans (before composition)would maul a Spartan. Or so I've heard), they could. Just like you could play as the Flood in Halo 4. I could see it somehow working out. The simulator works on the Elites that are allies with the UNSC. Th elites join the UNSC as a special branch, en-par with Spartans. They can use the simulator. I think that would be cool (however, it's unlikely). In fact, if 343 uses the idea I proposed (or somewhat similar idea), I would probably play as an Elite sometimes. Only when I use Covenant weapons, though. All I want is for the canon to be in Multiplayer.

Or, they could keep the Prometheans and Elites and have them be programs run by Dumb AI's to try and simulate actual combat. The Elites could always fit in too. Especially since Rio De Janeiro is full of Covenant species seeking asylum.
Or, they could keep the Prometheans and Elites and have them be programs run by Dumb AI's to try and simulate actual combat.
Yeah, but that's just a lame excuse to put them in War Games. In my mind.
The Elites could always fit in too. Especially since Rio De Janeiro is full of Covenant species seeking asylum.
Do you mind explaining what you mean? I know it's a reference to Episode one of Spartan Ops, but I'm not sure that's what Hoya meant.

It seems that a small group of Covenant Species are in league with the UNSC. If not, they appear to be there to escape certain enemies. It's implied though that It's been hard to contain or track the Covies on Earth as one of the Elites there grabbed a HAVOK Nuke.
-
Oh that's cool. Although, I find it hard to believe a 7-8 foot tall alien is hard to miss in Brazil.
-
It's not that they're hard to miss. It's that it's hard to keep tabs on them.
-
He was probably hiding in plain site. It's difficult to track which Covenant are friendly and which aren't.
-
Wait... What? I thought the Covenant Elites went back to Sanghelios ?
