What is the most severe injury you've received in your life?
Mine happened when I was a toddler, something or other ripped through the lower part of my mouth and my mother had to sew it up. Now I have two nifty lil' scars on my bottom lip :D
What severe physical (or even mental) injuries have you attained in your life! I'd really love to know!
-
Fractured my right ankle snowboarding.
-
Sixth grade, had a severe sprain (was basically a torn tendon in my ankle but nothing could be done about it). Now there is a big bump on that foot, that whenever I run rubs raw. I also have a fairly pronounced limp because of it.

Edited by Alphy : 8/2/2013 8:48:11 PMWhen I was around five, I was jumping on the bed (yeah, you've heard all those songs) and I jumped back and I hit my head on the headboard. There was blood everywhere. Doctors said I cracked my head open. I needed stitches and all that.
-
either well i banged my head on the corner or a wall and had my head bleed enough i should of got stitches when i fell off a backstop as a child and had to be carried home fell off a bunkbed and cracked my head on concrete, woke up upstairs with no memory of walking up the stairs but answering questions about the date and place right or when my brother threw a rock and busted some teeth and bled everywhere.

Broken heart.
-
Managed to completely tear my hip flexor. Took a year and a half to get back to normal walking, and I still have to limp after some activities
-
I tore my anus. No but seriously, I sprained my ankle a few years ago and had to wear a boot to walk.
-
I hit heads with a teammate trying to tackle someone in rugby. He blacked out for a second, but my eyebrow got torn right open. Down to the bone. The skin, muscles, tendons, etc. in my eyebrow had just split right open. People said part of it was hanging down and they could see my skull at times. The ref said "Oh! That's gonna need stitches." and stopped play as soon as he saw my face. Even the nurse at the hospital was impressed by the cut, and she used to be an EMT. Number of stitches: 39

Haven't really had that much. It's a tie between tripping while walking around in the bathroom and tearing off the skin on my chin (still have a scar there) and falling off my bike and having the skin on my kneecap ripped off.
-
Injuries - damaged shin plus a cracked bone n my hand. Illness - some of my intestines didn't work properly when I was born
-
Broken arm that's about it.
-
Broke my elbow in 2 places 6 or so weeks ago. I already have near full extension back on my arm.
-
I fractured two vertebrae playing football last year. The tension in my spine as a result was almost enough to break it.
-
I hit my head on the sharp arm of a chair and cut it open aound the eyebrow and had to get it stitched up. This also happened with the back of my head, but it was a sharp table this time around. I was very young and stupid.
-
I fractured my left wrist when I was... I can't remember. I've got a feeling I was 5-6. Haven't really done anything too bad, though I did accidentally headbutt a concrete windowsill which wasn't very nice, some time after my fracture.
-
I broke three ribs, bruised my kidney and liver playing football sophomore year of high school. That hurt for like a month.
-
Thats hard to determine, between 150 stitches on m leg, nail through a foot, dislocated and hyper extended knee, and several others.
-
A tree fell on me once, but it just knocked me out I didn't get any real injuries I fake cried because I thought I should go to the hospital. There was this one time where I thought I could balance a cup of chicken noodle soup on a tiny plate on my lap... the soup spilled and I burned my leg. I got a huge scar.
-
Messing with a pocket knife and fillet the left side side of my right index finger. Cut right to the bone but had a cool little pocket in my finger that I kept playing around with (looked like a fish mouth)
-
Didn't land a jump on my dirt bike, and shatter my left knee cap and elbow. I also have deteriorating joints. I need scoping in both shoulders, an elbow, a hip, and a knee.
-
Fine if no one else has said it I stepped on a lego once.
-
Split my head open and had to have 23 stitches

Edited by Oyik: 8/2/2013 12:19:08 PMFractured my ankle while sparring once. That was the end of Jiu Jitsu for me D':
-
I fell on my head really hard once.
-
Mine would have to be when I was in grade 2, when I fell off a goal post and broke my wrist while mucking around with my mate.
-
Broken 10 or so bones, had a few concussions, had stitches in a few places, but nothing too major.
