Eddy Snowman is a guy who worked for the NSA. He released some documents to a journalist Glenn Greenwald about some NSA programs, which involved the NSA looking in on Americans emails and bookface posts and such, as well as collecting data about our phone calls. Eddy initially goes to Hong Kong (so that he doesn't get the Bradley Manning treatment here in the USA), whilst he gets charged as a criminal under the Espionage Act. Then he went to Moscow, and what happens after that is unclear to me. I think I heard rumors of him going to Venezuela, but I'm not sure. Essentially, he's looking for a country to seek asylum in.
