I don't think the rating matters in the slightest. If a game gets a lower rating, then it would me more accessible to a wider audience. If a game has a higher rating, minors will still be able to get the game through their parents or friends.
I think that ratings are being misjudged these days anyway. I would like to think the bar for an M rated game would be GTA IV or Saints Row. Games like Halo, even though some scenes may have stabbing and death, seems like it would be more of a teen game. Just look at this scene from halo wars (rated T). [url=http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jWaf8CVS6cg]Halo wars cutscene[/url] I am just confused on how scenes like that can pass as teen while halo: CE is labeled as M when there isn't a scene nearly as violent as that.
