I rewatched the GDC panel video t'other day, and I suddenly had a thought. Now I know it's unlikely, but what if the fifth, unknown alien race in Destiny (people are throwing "Glimmer" around a fair bit) is actually attempting to ally itself with humanity, having faced the same threat which almost wiped humanity out? What if these pyramid ships we're seeing are the last remaining fleet of "Glimmer" vessels, desperately seeking refuge in the relative safety of the Sol system, what with the presence of the Traveller?
While this is just wild speculation and most likely completely wrong, it raises an interesting point - not all aliens are out to get us. Hell, the Traveller is a great example of that.
Of course, there's also the chance that the "Glimmer" are the threat which pretty much wiped us out to begin with, were stopped by the Traveller, but are back with a vengeance ready to stomp us into the dust and take our planet for all of its fruity goodness (that's resources to you and I).
Thoughts?

Looking to the similar design of their ships and certain structures on our Earth, it's possible that have been man's "allies" before and have come back to unite? I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to have a gander around their ships.
-
Right when the glimmer walk out of their ships this is what I imagine them doing.
-
I'm going to laugh when glimmer has nothing to do with an enemy race
-
From what we know from the gdc panel so far there are 5 enemy races (the enemy races' mood board) of which we only know 4. We've been assuming the triangular ships are part of this fifth race because of the triangles in the fifth unknown mood board. But glimmer is anybodies guess I think until tomorrow - though it was registered by Bungie at the same time as other enemy race names.

Fruity goodness. Best way of phrasing that I ever heard.

I get a Forerunner feel from the Glimmer.
-
I really don't think the main enemy that destoryed us or made us almost extinct is not among the 5 races.

Who knows.
