The Asteroid Belt is actually pretty void. The distance is so far in between objects that NASA doesn't even really consider them when they send a probe through it because the chances of hitting something is infinitesimally small. It would be nice to have some sort thing like in that video, but it's just not realistic. And the rings of Saturn wouldn't work because they're only about three feet thick.
