I'd like to see Bungie invert the cliche asteroid thicket trope and portray the asteroid belt completely realistically. NASA estimates the odds of one of their probes hitting an asteroid in either of the solar system's asteroid belts to be about a billion to one.
Also note that the relevant clip takes place in a planetary ring system, which is usually much more densely populated than an asteroid belt. Something like that happening around Saturn? Sure, but not around Ceres or Pluto.
But yes, the asteroid belt and Kuiper belt should appear in the game, realistically portrayed.

I'd take the fun over the realism, it's a game after all, but to each their own. I wouldn't object if it went the realistic route tho', just to be clear.
-
I'd rather have realism than tired cliche. Realistic can be fun, but something we've already seen 1000 times, not so much.

I'm mostly just considering the actual fun of piloting a ship in a difficult environment that isn't combat. I'm open to any and all varieties of how this could be done. As long as it's entertaining. The cliche I can take or leave but I get that you have a different take on this. This is just wish-listing anyhoo! Any ideas?

Dodging passive obstacles isn't my idea of fun, at least not when the objective is simply to get to the other side. Now, throw in a realistic Newtonian physics model, and you might have my attention.

Also, should probably point out, I always had in mind going in to retrieve something, crashed probe, fragment of a mind or some such. Not just to get to the other side. Completely realistic space flight would really make it interesting.

We can only hope. That would be excellent.
-
Especially if realistic orbital mechanics comes with it.
-
Ha, was typing as you posted, yeah that would really up the engagement.
-
Something like in Kerbal Space Program would be ideal. It's fairly realistic, and the basics of how to manipulate your orbit can be learned by experimentation.

Sounds good to me. Haven't played it so ill take your word for it. I'd love to have this in game.
