It clearly lost power, stalled and then crashed. I would be very surprised if the crash had anything to do with loose cargo, I suspect it was simply catastrophic failure of the engines or something to do with the plane itself.

  • I could ask Boeing what they know, but I think they wouldn't comment on it. They are one of our customers, and their maintenance and diagnostics group is pretty easy to talk to. I'm not going to ask, but its tempting.

  • If that theory is right, then the lost power and stalled because the cargo shifted to the back of the plane, which caused the engines to fail.
