I think you earn confidence by being rewarded for your efforts. In other words, by making yourself or other people see you improve in whatever it is you're working at. For some people that means making themselves look nice and getting compliments because of that, or for other people its for winning an award for something they worked on.. Things like that make you earn confidence. That last part of my post was kind of a joke, but I also meant that my parents don't compliment me for things I haven't achieved. They would tell me I did a good job on something, but that was it. I think that "strategy" helped though, because it made me appreciate what I can and am able to do.
