Please don't give them any ideas. The only thing they would remake is the campaign, and the campaign was unfinished, buggy, and because of the deadline, had a different ending than intended. A remake would leave the plot intact and would only buff up the graphics. Multiplayer was the greatest quality to Halo 2, but we wouldn't see that in the remake nor would we want to. Halo 2 was good for its time, but that's not going to be true for its modern competitors.

  • It's funny that people have so little faith in old school multiplayers, yet there are clear examples of other games that have kept their formula intact over the years and are still big players. Counter Strike is a perfect example.

Haven't really played Counterstrike, so I'll need more information. Is it a remake, or are people playing the same game? What do you mean by "formula intact"? Is it exactly the same every time? What do you mean by "big players"? How popular is it?

Counter Strike is among the best FPS games to ever exist, hands down. And I'm not just saying that as an opinion. Counter Strike was originally a mod made from Half Life in 2000. There have been a couple of official releases to the series (1.6, Condition Zero, Source and Global Offensive) All versions of the game still has a lot of people playing, and since the game is open source, it has a loyal community of modders that create new maps or whatever they can dream up. Intact formula means that the gameplay has almost literally not changed in the 13 years the game has existed. It has worked so well and is so fluid, the gameplay so competitive with an ample skill gap that the game can get addicting. It's a game in which team work is very important, and good communication is vital when playing other teams. It's functions through the round system. You die, you wait until next round to spawn. As I said, Counter Strike is one of the biggest FPS titles to have ever existed. While it inspired future military shooters like CoD and many others, it has fallen in popularity slightly over the years but it still remains one of the big ones. On consoles it is no where as near as popular as it is on PC, obviously, but it still works fine for consoles. I have Global Offensive for 360 and another Counter Strike for the original Xbox. For which I might add was the most played Xbox Live game until Halo 2 came out.
