Good for you, man!, but
Even when installed on the hard drive, Halo 4's graphics are perhaps the worst of the series to appear on the Xbox 360 platform.
Humm... WHAT? I can't even... wow... just, wow.

 • Like I said, I think the graphics honestly weren't all that spectacular, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it's running on hardware that is seven years old. Even so, I expect some pretty high performance out of an Xbox 360 game that suddenly requires me to install an entire separate disk onto my HDD, so it needs to be judged by a different standard than Halo 3, ODST, or Reach. I think in contrast, Reach had some much lovelier particle effects that made rock walls explode with sparks and shards of granite when fired at or made fuel rod cannons glitter brilliantly. And in Halo 3 we had a nice flashlight to illuminate our environments. Halo 4 had some nice character face models and some very pretty pre-rendered cutscenes, but I was kind of underwhelmed by the graphics on this one in general. And having a hard time seeing plasma grenades was a real disappointment, especially considering how pretty and glowing they were in previous games all the way back to Halo 2.

 • I think you're confusing graphics to art style. The graphics for Halo 4 are 10/10 holy shit God made this. The art style is pure opinion. I'd rather prefer Halo 3's art style over Halo 4, but actual graphics, Halo 4 beats everything on console.

 • I agree that Halo 4 had some pretty messy graphics. Halo 3 IMO had beautiful environments, but lacked a bit in things like close ups on faces. Have you seen the Halo 3 water? GORGEOUS! Halo : Reach however I feel had the best graphics on the 360. Sure Crysis looked pretty, but it had a lot of problems such as pop-ins and horrible framerate. Reach always seemed to run smoothly no matter what was happening on screen. Halo 4 set a dull mood on a few levels such as Haven where the map is one color and looks as though it is made out of plastic. There were also more than a few pop-ins where entire bushes would appear while approaching them. Halo 4 just felt the least consistent in terms of visuals.
