So a friend of mine has basically gone missing.

A friend of mine who I have known since Freshman year in high school has basically gone missing. After Christmas Break he never came back to school. I have 3 classes back to back with him and lunch. I asked my teachers if he said anything and they all said he just turned in his books and said he was moving, but wouldn't say where to. A few friends of mine live across the street from him and said his house was just empty one day but they never saw a moving truck. He doesn't respond to calls, text, FB messages and he deleted all of us off of Xbox Live and FB. He didn't say a word to anyone about leaving and after 4 months none of my friends have been able to track him down. He has literally vanished. It really sucks because he was a really good friend of mine as well. Does this give off a weird vibe to anyone else?

  • On a serious note, try filing a missing persons report?

I asked one of our mutual friends where she was because we had plans in the next couple of days and I was told that she had gone to Sydney (five hours away) for an unexpected holiday. When I asked her about it over FB, she admitted that something had happened at her house, only describing it as "an accident" and saying that her Mum and Step-father were splitting up. She then said that she might be staying there for some time, possibly forever. About two months later she stopped replying to messages and I learnt that "the accident" somehow involved her little sister. She still talked to other people from our school occassionally, but would never reply to me. More than likely due to the fact I inadvertedly broke up her relationship with her boyfriend rather than a Witness protection program, though.

          • Maybe something bad happened and he had to enter the witness protection program.

          • It seems he left on his own accord. It would be best to let him be.

          • Hey there. Usually I'm one to just lurk and never really sign in, but I feel like you could use all the advice you can get. I've never had such a thing happen to me, so take what I say lightly. I believe that if he was really a good friend, he would want you to move on as well and if he wants to talk to you guys, he will make contact. Pass on his memory and maybe he will work his way back into your lives again some day. Now, however, maybe it's better to just hope him the best and be strong for your friends. I hope this helps, and if you want to talk any more, feel free to message me. Sorry to hear about this, man.

I'm confident he had a good reason for it.

            • Dude probably had stuff to deal with. It might be strange since people don't usually just "up and go" like that, but if he told everyone he was leaving, seems fine to me. However, just ditching all of you like that...dick move, man. I'm sure he had his reasons, though.

              • That's... odd. To say the least, maybe he secretly hated you all and once he moved wanted to erase the past? That's the only thing I can think of. accept... <.< >.> ALIENS.
