I think tackling bullying could reduce school shootings

A lot, perhaps even the majority of school shooters have been social outcasts and bully victims. If they weren't bullied past the line perhaps they would never have cracked. I'm not defending school shooters, what they do is horrific. But I don't believe every school shooter is truly a monster. The reason bullying isn't tackled is because of 'political correctness.' Nowadays, bully victims are blamed and bullies are glorified. A while ago I was the one who was moved into a different class and not the person trying to bully me. Plus the fact that school expulsions are extremely rare nowadays, recently a guy only just got expelled after having assaulted a total of 3 people in a few months. Basically nowadays bullies are regarded as lovely people and bully victims are the bad guys. Check the link to see what kind of stuff I'm on about Basically, I think tackling bullying would help stop potential school shooters being pushed to the limit, instead of treating bullies like heroes

  • Bullying in school can't be fixed at school. It starts at home. Bullies, whether the social outcast themselves or the dick jock all have inferiority complexes they are compensating for that start with their view of themselves, and generally are what they learn at home. Bad or vacant parenting. What makes it worse at school is the group/gang mentality that seems to go along with it. If more regular kids would step up or intervene when they see things taking place and have more of a 'group - we won't stand for your behavior' against the bully, friend or not, then things at schools would change a little for the better. Thing is not too many will step forward to do this for they don't want to wish to be singled out either. Teachers are basically near powerless these days for the laws of 'hands off' and really stupid parents that believe that their little angel would never do such a thing, and go ballistic on the school officials when they do take action. I blame that on the screwed up laws today. They are enabling the dregs of society to become more decrepit as they grow older, and less regarding of being decent socially. There are a couple kids in my son's grade that have been to juvie already this year. No behavioral changes for the good what so ever. They need some real consoling, but likely will never receive it.
