Halo Waypoint is the worst forum I've had the displeasure of using
I can't even begin to fathom how people can still go on there after the myriad of terribleness that just overflows the site.
The rules over there are designed specifically to ONLY praise 343i, if you have any negative feedback or criticism they'll ban you.
Don't even get me started on the mods. Even if you make one little joke, BAN!

And there are countless other posts I was banned for because of their overly-censored corrupt forums, it's ridiculous.
How do you feel about the website's forums?

3 RepliesI got permabanned for legitimately stating my grievances with Halo 4 in a post. I didn't swear or belittle anyone. Yet still a 200 plus year ban. Halo is a "Mature" rated game yet the forums are handled like they are meant for small children.

You want to know the worst part? They are probably the biggest hypocrites ever. On april fools day some of them had their name set to Dickersnoodle. Yet when I say dang I am banned for circumventing the language filter. BTW I remember reading that post and I got a kick out of it.

The mythic thread is the only reason I go there. It and the rest of the campaign tricking/glitching community are the only parts of the Halo community that I enjoy nowadays. And the worst part is, it's not even 343's fault. Not entirely.

1 ReplyThe bans there are truly ridiculous, the mods there seem to have been given a mandate to censor all negative opinion. I'm genuinely quite thankful of the Ninjas here, considering what we could have... Also, I fail to see the connection to Communism - if you're referring to the censorship in Soviet Russia and PRC, that's not part of Communism but the more authoritarian Stalinism and Maoism respectively.

I got to two thousand posts and was about to be perma-banned. But I kept pestering and skirted around their rules till I could see that the forum was losing steam and basically other than the moderators 343 was pretty much in lawyer and Microsoft bubble and wasn't going to engage its forum community directly. Microsoft doesn't know how to not be corporate and 343 will suffer that disconnect as Halo 4 has dismissed the good will of it's community and solidified a sense in gamers that Halo is joke.

I've never been banned over there, but I don't think I even have 100 posts either, the forums kind of suck IMO.

5 RepliesOver 10,000 posts on Waypoint myself, most of them negative at this point. I will say though that I've had to shake my head a few times. The mods aren't that bad, but then again giving constructive criticism on the forums and making friends with them has perks.

dude, you have no idea. I got banned and I didn't even say anything directly to any person or even quote someone else's post. I made a post in the Halo 3 section replying to a thread that was talking about how Halo 3 was better. I agreed and got banned. Even other members couldn't believe I got banned and the opening post of that thread that user was not banned. The mods pretty much unfairly and blatantly banned me because apparently speaking your mind on that place is not allowed. Don't even get me started on all the ignorant users who have never played Halo CE, 2, and 3 and say Reach and Halo 4 are superior / anyone that wants Halo 3 gameplay back is just "set in their ways'. It's literally the dumbest forum I've ever witnessed. You know the saying: "can't fix stupid" 343 forums is just that.

The mods are people chosen from when nobody else actually knew about the site. They were active people, not people that were picked because of exemplary character. So... eh. It's 343's first Forum. Achronos got lucky for picking good people here when he was starting this website, but 343 did not get that luxury of chance.

Yeah ... and its weird ... they talk about games. Much better here, with no structure or common discussion of any kind. And the mods here ... unless you post about [b]THEM [/b]... dont care. We can even talk about kiddie pics and teenage girl mishaps without a thread being blocked.
