yeah I like windows 7 way more. I can actually do stuff without stupid layouts and pointless change getting in the way of my work.
As for windows 8 on a console I really don't care. I'll be playing games on it and not doing actual projects / work so w/e.

It will be Windows without the UI. The underlying code is there so that it's easier for developers to put games on Xbox and the Windows Store.

What do you mean by 'without the UI'? You mean like, no desktop with the taskbar and stuff?

Edited by Bistromathics: 4/19/2013 9:58:15 PMYeah, exactly. It won't have the Start Screen or Desktop or anything; it'll be replaced with a more TV-friendly interface like what we have now. Running a full version of Windows 8 in the Windows RT framework doesn't really make sense, though. It's probably just Windows RT, which has the nice codebase without being too resource-heavy. Either way, if nobody had told us, we would've never known Windows was on the console.

So generally speaking they would develop one game that would work on both platforms with little to no difference in the actual programming for the port

Pretty much. They can make a game for the Windows Store, add gamepad support, and it'll be ready for PC and Xbox.

Doesn't sound too bad
