Well that settles it for me... I'm giving up on console gaming. I don't want to have a bunch of consoles hanging out around my television. It's sad, I may have to give up on gaming all together. DRM killed the gaming industry. And I was hoping to get to play Destiny at some point in my life. I'm not going to play Destiny on a current gen, and I'm not going to invest in a next gen. Sucks to be me...

  • Someone's being very melodramatic... Not getting enough attention lately?

  • If anything too much attention... The way I see it, when xbox started charging for their live service, everybody was like, "I'm not going to pay a monthly fee just to play games online. Especially when PC offer it for free!", but now a days nobody thinks twice about paying a monthly fee to play games online. Why because they took what was given to them. Now Microsoft is trying to do the same thing with Always On Line. So the way I see it, the best thing is to say, "No" and not support an idea that goes against my beliefs. Even if it cost me the joy of videogames.

  • It's still going to require an internet connection to start a game session. While technically that's not "Always" on there will be intrusive DRM that will deny you access to the game if it's not able to verify the games credentials.

  • No it's not, the article stated this. You will only need an internet connection if you want to use the TV services. The article specifically said you can play games offline without an internet connection. What your basing that off of is reports from devs that need to have an active internet connection in order to use the dev kit. Which makes sense so they can keep track of these dev kits, this makes it a lot easier to track down stolen or sold dev kits (think about superDae selling his on ebay).
