I thought so too. But from the position of Microsoft, you represent your employer any time you're in a public setting, even if you're not a company spokesperson. Orth managed to draw the ire of many, many people towards his company's new product, which doesn't even officially exist yet.

I can certainly see people seeing him as a representative for Microsoft and that he should have been fired for being a gigantic -blam!-ing moron.
