Having trouble posting youtube videos in comments.

This has been happening for a little while now and I've tried messing around with how I type the link but nothing seems to be working. Whenever I paste a link into the "Share a link url, image url, or youtube video" area it doesn't show up in my comment (at least I can't see it maybe everyone else can but that wouldn't make sense). For example in this thread I posted the following link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6GW03WsFgU#t=2m38s. Yet for some reason there is just a large empty space where the video should be appearing. Am i typing the link incorrectly? I don't think so because when I paste it into my browser it goes to the video. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Use the start parameter in the URL. For example: http://www.youtube.com/embed/bOcioqwN2Hc?start=90&wmode=transparent&rel=0 will start the video at the 90 second mark.

    • The embed field does not handle "start at time reference X" suffixes well (at all actually). If you want people to see/start at a particular point in a video, you will have to longhand suggest the point for them to forward to. "Watch from 3:21" for example.

I believe you are posting to much, when you add #t=2m38s Above is my post without it.

          • Are you using mobile or desktop? I find that I also have this issue when I am posting from mobile so I found the best choice is to go to the desktop version of youtube and copy/paste from that url. If you are using desktop I noticed that the end of your url isn't hyperlinked, so that may be an issue. I wish I was more tech savy when it comes to urls and stuff like that but I am not.
