Destiny

Discuss all things Destiny.

If you could have one thing in Destiny, what would it be?

What would we, the Bungie community like to see? We're seen fantastic stories and levels, sweeping music and unforgettable enemies, always demanding more. I think each person has one or two things they're hoping for in Destiny; time to share. For me, it'd be a soundtrack with as much vibrancy as Halo 2's. That, or a dedicated zone for speeder bike races.

    • I would love to have some kind of pet/companion to keep me company. I really like games that give me a totally bad ass companion that I actually care about, such as Shadowmere from Skyrim. That horse and I are bros to the close.

    • Give me large, epic battles between hundreds of players. In multiplayer I would love to wage battle against hundreds of people, where tactics really matter. To add on that idea I would love epic space battles as well, ones with cruisers and fighters. These space battles would include dog fights as well as boarding parties.

Rather than having these "holy grail" rare uncontestedly superior uber-weapons, I'd rather see a kind of sliding scale where the rarest weapons are exotic variations with advantages and disadvantages in terms of the most vanilla starting weapons. A kind of point scale where rate of fire, reload time, range & accuracy, damage, magazine size are all tied into one another; an advantage in one means a disadvantage in another. And a kind of damage mode, based on the kind of round, barrel & mechanism. So, that explosive launcher you find with an insane blast radius does a much less damage, but it's damage over time in that area, for example, as opposed to a lower capacity, smaller AOE higher damage launcher. So you have a whole spectrum of weapons, generated on a kind of slider-based system. In terms of unique appearance, every unique combination of stats would have a unique appearance; the rarest stat weapons have those unique polygonal skins you see with "Thorn" and such, while the slightly modified or vanilla ones have mostly modular parts just with different finishes. That way, with rare and common but always balanced combinations, there could be some sort of PvP mode where we could take any utility weapon we've found into battle because the stats would (hopefully) balance out. I mean, in addition to a more regulated PvP mode where weapon stats are normalized and tuned for hyper-competitive play. Basically a little bit like Loadout, but not player-modified and more loot/currency/situationally based in terms of what you have access to, a bit like Borderlands but not nearly as random. That being said; I wonder if killed/procured enemy alien weapons (in co-op) can be wielded by the guardians at all, or if maybe we'll collect scrap parts from killing them to create weapon variants that our guardians can then use?

        • Biotic-Charge from Mass Effect, or at least something similar. That was the most useful power in the entire series.
