Finishing the Fight: A final Halo 3 ViDoc from the community IDEA

THIS IS ONLY AN IDEA, I AM NOT CONFIRMING IT'S CREATION UNTIL TOMORROW DUE TO BUSY SCHEDULING Well I see a movement beginning to grow, and I'd love to play my part in it. This weekend many players are beginning an Exodus back to Halo 3 in response to 343i's management and overall feeling of Halo 4 and the franchise. I'm going to document this movement because I feel that not only is it a great way to get our message heard, but possibly a pivotal movement in the gaming industry overall. Please leave some of your thoughts on Halo in the comments but not too long. Showing messages and thoughts directly from the community can possibly have an impact as well.

  • This weekend was a blast! I managed to find players almost instantly with my party. I felt like it was 2008 again.

  • If this a fan vidoc about Halo 3, then why have any comments about 343i or Halo 4 at all? It should all be about Halo 3 and what makes it good, not what makes every other game bad in comparison to it. You get me?

    • A documentary? Well try to make sure you check out the following: -343i never thanked Bungie (aside form some possible initial stuff that I missed) -Frankie or whatever bungie bigwig that went over there changed for the worse. While I have not found the time to do it, apparently this change can be seen over several Bungie ViDocs. -Mechanics that are similar. -Mechanics that are different. -Mechanics that don't matter as much due to conflicting mechanics. -The severe drop in choice options compared to Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 3: ODST. -Forge's major nerfing and its MAGNETS. -343i's updates to Halo: Reach (Note that Bungie couldn't do any Title Updates) -How 343i broke the Halo: Reach population counter. -That 343i unlocked every Halo 3 armor. -Short comparison between armors in Halo 3, Reach, and 4. (Three columns for each game with a fade-in?) -How music in Halo 4 doesn't match as well. -How Halo 3 still sold more units than its first week than Halo 4 did. -How the Halo 4 action sack was 100% slayer. -How the weapon balance is slanted. -How just about literally everything is redesigned for no real reason. -Halo 4's major glitches, like super jumps and glitching through floors. -343i's oppressive and strict forums. and finally: -343i's GDC presentation. -Community reaction --Community reaction on 343i's own forums -343i's reaction Good luck?

    • EDIT: Please keep any comments about 343i to a lesser degree of harshness. The only way we'll be able to get them to listen is with manners and respect instead of going for their throats. Example: Some things 343i could do to make Halo better is blah blah blah, because it worked so well in the past

Bungie's Halo revolutionized the gaming industry many times over with its use of large, open game environments, numerous and varied types of vehicles, and new online features and game modes. It put both the Xbox and Xbox Live on the map, and influenced dozens of game developers. Its combination of engaging story, incredible design, simultaneously beautiful and bad-ass music, and overarching elements of FUN and COMMUNITY make it my favorite video game series of all time. 343 Industries is taking it in completely the wrong direction, as well as doing a horrible job of managing the franchise. And, as shown by their arrogant attitude and unwillingness to listen to Halo's fan base, they could care less.

    •
But possibly a pivotal movement in the gaming industry overall.
I don't see how at max 1,000 people not playing Halo 4 is going to effect the gaming industry.

      • I'm so down, instead of just one day where 1000 people go back to H3 we should get everyone to go back to H3 overtime.
