Bioshock: Infinite Discussion (Possible Spoilers)

Anyone who hasn't played Bioshock: Infinite yet should do so immediately. The original Bioshock was the centerpiece of this generation of games (and rightly so), but Irrational's latest effort definitely steals the crown from it's predecessor, and makes it look easy while it does. It's an absolutely astonishing game - a masterpiece of the medium. This is one you definitely don't want to have spoiled for you. Experience it for yourself as soon as possible. I cannot stress this enough: If you haven't played it and are planning to do so, AVOID SPOILERS AT ALL COSTS. You'll be glad you did. This game is at it's best when you allow yourself to be taken on the ride it wants to bring you on, at it's own pace, with all the revelations in their proper place. Do NOT continue reading this thread if you wish to avoid spoilers. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I was really impressed with this game's ending. They managed to tie in the previous games in a really surprising way that I think most people won't have seen coming. I had no idea they were going to take Bioshock to such an outlandish and mind-blowing place. This game starts as a straight-forward social commentary of the same type and quality as the first Bioshock, but by the end it morphs into an unexpected sci-fi thriller of alternate realities, causality, time-travel, and the choices we make in our lives that's sure to have you on the edge of your seat. I stayed up until 5am finishing the game because I just couldn't stop. After finishing this game, you are forced to re-evaluate everything you thought you knew about this game series. The previous titles look very different in light of the revelations at the end of Infinite, and it leaves us speculating on what direction they might take with the series in the future, now that we know what we know.
