This community has been important to me over the years. As moderator I may have wrangled with the worst of you, but I stayed around so long because of the strength of this community. I know this is a good place to begin appealing to the better nature of the benevolent beast that is the internet. Please spread this through any means that you can. I am counting on you.

I recently discovered that in the states March is nationally recognised by congress as "Endometriosis Awareness Month", due to the efforts of the ERC. The week of the 4th was also supposed to be Endometriosis Awareness Week in the UK. I have been aware of the condition for quite some time, but honestly haven't seen any word of it these past few weeks, in spite of all these great initiatives out there. That may partly be because I do not frequent the places where it is likely to come up in conversation, but I think it more likely that the vast majority of people are very much ignorant of the illness, or, if they are aware, dismiss its severity. Certainly not enough has yet been done to educate.
