Permanent Death:
This would not at all be fun for me. It would just be stressful. The game wouldn't be as fun.
Soul Collection/Re-manifestation:
I really don't want to go back and have to do extra work just to get my character revived before I can play the game again. This would just be annoying to most players.
Character Pool:
I'd rather just have one player that I can focus on. While this is a cool idea, I don't want to spend all this time playing as this character that I've started to love, and then just die and have to start with a new character.
I'm not trying to bash your ideas, but I think I would rather just have normal respawning, or something like it. It would make the game less stressful and more fun. And I can still play and focus on my character even if I make a mistake. Of course there should be punishments for dying, but I think Permanent Death is a little extreme. I'm sure Bungie has something good.

Granted, I must confess that I have a large investment into pen and paper games. I do feel that perma-death should be available to players who want that risk/reward thrill and adds to your experience with said character. Alas, love is not eternal and nothing lasts forever and so is the same with your character. This doesn't prevent your character from leaving a legacy either by loot creation, deeds, or other such methods. I am fairly used to having my characters killed off by a dungeon master, but at the same time you get to use your creativity to create another character to enrich the world in a different way.
